Fortnite can relate to Macbeth in many ways, especially if you are Ninja. For the small number of you who don't know what Fortnite is, it is a video game on the console, pc, and mobile that has become the most popular game on the market. And guess what, it's FREE. Fortnite is an online co-op game where you can either play with friends, by yourself, or with random people. If you have seen or read the book, The Hunger Games, it's a lot like that. You start off in the sky, falling down on a big map, trying to find loot to kill other people with. The map gets smaller as the game goes on and the last player alive wins. Many of you might wonder, How does Fortnite in any way relate to Macbeth. Well, in general, it doesn’t, but I have found many ways to recreate scenes that symbolize what is going on in Macbeth.
Throughout the Novel, Macbeth, Macbeth manipulates Lady Macbeth and vice versa in many ways. From being called a coward, to the witches telling Macbeth what he needs to do and so on. The are many ways that manipulation could be shown in Fortnite. One way would be to give your teammate many really good guns and send him off to kill enemies to die. Another way would be to give him many of your guns but then creatively kill him yourself. This is just one theme in Macbeth that could be recreated in the Video Game, Fortnite. Many other scenarios and themes could be forced to relate to Macbeth, because of how Fortnite is just like any video game that involves killing. There are many tiny little details that I have focused on in the game Fortnite that could relate to Fortnite in many ways. Since the video game is focused on killing, it relates to Macbeth in many ways. First off, there is a lot of murder that occurs throughout the story. From Macbeth and lady Macbeth murdering King Duncan, Macbeth sending his assassins to kill Banquo and his son, all the way to the duel between Macbeth and Macduff. Fortnite is a large map that includes houses, trees, castles, and many real-life structures. Although it is a cartoon video game, you can still turn Macbeth into a cartoon if you really imagine it.
For the next video, I chose to do two scenes that relate to each other. These two scenes include the lead up to Macbeth sending his assassins to murder Banquo, and the second scene includes the actual murder of Banquo. During the first scene, you will see Banquo and Macbeth talking to each other and having a “normal” conversation. Macbeth also tells Banquo, “Fail not our feast.” (Act 3 Scene 1) He basically tells Banquo that he has to go to the feast that Macbeth will be hosting later on. This scene is a very action-packed scene, as you will see in the visual. You will see Macbeth talking to the murderer, as I will be playing as the murderer and killing Banquo who is an enemy.
Macbeth has always manipulated and taken advantage of Lady Macbeth throughout the story. The manipulation has gone both ways in the story, but for the video in Fortnite, I had chosen to show manipulation at its finest in Fortnite. Many may not know but guns are a necessity in Fortnite. So what the video shows is a guy who is Macbeth giving all of his guns which he needs to Lady Macbeth, but right when she starts to take them all, Macbeth turns on her and basically kills her. For the Last scene and the scene to end it all, I will be relating the duel of Macduff, and Macbeth to the game of Fortnite. This is a scene that is very easy to imagine, due to the killing and the epic battle between Macbeth and Macduff. For this scene, I will be playing as Macbeth, with all the power in the world and no worries about dying. Sadly after being too confident like Macbeth, I will be murdered in an epic duel.
The Novel of Macbeth can relate to many things if you can just imagine it, from supreme items to pictures, all the way to Fortnite. Fortnite is a great way to signify Macbeth because of the visual. Also because it makes you think, and guess what scene it is and which Characters are in it.
