The Benefits of a Humorous President
Hillary Clinton has been all the rave in 2016 because of the rising attention on the presidential elections and her nomination for presidential candidacy. Seeing the popularity of Barack Obama’s focuses rise on the show “Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis,” Clinton appears on the show to be humorous which is a quality needed for a great president. Appearing on the show, Clinton appears uncomfortable yet is assertive with her ideas and tolerates Galifianakis’ brutal remarks for her run in the presidential election. Although behind the scenes, the staff managers describe Clinton as more humorous than Barack Obama which is HUGE because Clinton has been portrayed in the media as a serious but loving woman. Compared to Trump’s soreness towards jokes, Clinton, based on her handling on taking humorous criticism, surpasses Trump’s capability of handling minor and major conflicts within the country. After the show’s sponsor, Donald Trump, was played, Clinton assures Galifianakis the inappropriateness of the matter and says that she will not be disrespected which provides more evidence that she be an active president. Having humor reminds the public that their president is human and is a social quality that builds trust and connections.

You make a really interesting point here. Hillary is most definitely humorous and comfortable with the public. When I was watching the debate a couple nights ago, I noticed that Hillary did indeed make a strong connection with her supporters. It also goes to show how much she cares about the future of our world, whether it be expanding job opportunities, or making health care and education more affordable.
ReplyDeleteI also think that, as a woman in a workforce dominated by men, she has probably learned to really control her emotions and reactions. Being controlled and reserved is probably one of the few ways she has adapted in order to receive respect. You make a good point about how her ability to handle humorous conflict, in comparison to Trump, sheds light on her capability of handling conflict.
ReplyDeleteI've always thought that Hillary wasn't a very relaxed or humorous person. How she's presented herself during the campaign makes her seem serious about everything, but that's probably due in part to not hearing about this show. I agree that a humorous president would boost their public appeal.
