Serial is Cereal to Your Brain

Sarah Koenig, the author of the acclaimed podcast, Serial, knows how to keep you on your toes. But what makes her work so intriguing? Well, a couple things. For starters, the content of the podcast is something that weighs heavy in anyone’s heart, murder. But what makes HER way of telling it so juicy and keeping the listener compelled to come back for more. Well, many people admire the fact they’re able to hear a human voice; Adnan, the convicted murderer, along with others that played a role in the ongoing mystery show up countless times throughout the series. It gives the listener a sense of connection that is partially lost through just words. To go along with the peodcast medium, Koenig’s personality and charisma is perfect for the role she takes on. I fell in love with her merely by how she spoke (figuratively speaking of course). Well the point I’m trying to make with all this is, using a variety of mediums besides plain paper text enhance learning to a whole new level. Don’t just be bogged down by words, explore the other ways you can obtain information and find the one that keeps you engaged and sticks to your brain like gum under a seat hours, days, even months after you walk away from it. Don’t be afraid to expand the mind a little.
