The Millennials with their Million Problems

The Millennials with their Million Problems 😁😱💁

Millennials are now an often used word to describe the young adolescents of our generation. Our impression of the Millennials probably comes from headlines such as "High School Student Sells Nudes for College" or ironic memes saying "Faith in the Next Generation. We have a perception of the Millennials as out- of- control kids that are overly mature obsessed with technology. But what are they actually like?

Who are the Millennials?

Millennials are people who are born 1980 to 2000, reaching young adulthood by the 2000s.

What are the traits of the Millennials?

  1. Expert at technology (they grew up holding an iPad since they were 3.)
  2. Crave to be 'unique'- While pre 70s generation now want comfort, conveniency and classy, the Millennials strive to be 'in- vogue.'
  3. Delaying in marriage age- Dropping 7 years to 30 years old to be the appropriate marriage time compared to the 70s.

What are the problems cause by Millennials?

  1. Access only- Millennials tend to only want to have access to things without buying thus decreasing average consumer demand.
  2. Say no to babies!- They do not want to have as many children thus decreasing the global population.
  3. Mental health- Largest problem with clinical anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.
What are the good things Millennials have done?
  1. Rainbow 🌈- Most accepting of LGBTQ rights!
  2. Big and Smart- The largest generation with over 90 million in the US and the most well educated too.
  3. Good work ethic- Millennials want to be leaders and want to be entrepreneurs, they are also seen as one of the first generations to combine creativity and online technology.

The Take Away?

Every generation has its good and bad. Do not compare previous generations to the Millennials because every generation is unique. In every generation there are people who are complete 'wackos' and people who deserved to be praised. Just sit back, relax and support the Millennials, seeing what they can do and what they have to offer to our world.

  1. I think this is really eye-opening and I find it very true. I wonder what kids born past 2000 are called. You know cause they are even more technological than millennials. Super-millenials?

  2. This is a really interesting post. I feel that adults hold a negative stigma towards millennials, when really, there are quite a few positive traits of the generation, too.
